- Zamzar is an absolutely brilliant application on the web. It is free to use (has some limitations to free users but it doesn't really matter) , and you don't need to even register. Just an e-mail adress is enough. If you don't want to give your e-mail adress, (and I advice not to give it everywhere) you can before take a temporary one from the sites I mentioned below.

After you have your adress, you are ready to go. Enter the site, and upload your file. Or, you can also choose files to convert even you don't have it on your pc. From the download videos section, you can enter youtube links. So, you don't need any flv players anymore :) You can convert to many familiar file formats.
By the way, it would be great to mention the formats that are supported by Zamzar, I think :)
video formats (3gp, 3g2, avi, flv, gvi, iphone, ipod, m4v, mov, mp4, mpg, ogg, rm, rmvb, vob, wmv)
