Texting improves language
In a research conducted by Coventry University studied on almost a hundred children aged between ten to twelve to comprehend if text messaging is useful for children or not.
Suprisingly, texting, rather than damaging the language, it may help to develop better skills. They say it may contribute to reading ability as well as reading development.
Other researches have also found the same result. Use of instant messaging by teenagers has a positive side on language.
I always thought that using text messages on cell phones and instant messaging on for example msn messenger, yahoo, google talk etc. were harming the language we use. Of course there are many people using the language carefully but among the teenagers i didn't expect a positive side. Another suprising consequence for me was there are no bad effects. I mainly use Skype for communication by not writing but talking to mic. It is very very easy for me :p However, i now consider writing... :D
