Many of my friends ask me how to make computer safe,to be secure in the internet,or which softwares to use... I always make a protection with free softwares. Since about 1999 i am in the internet world. I used many softwares for security. And i think that free ones are also as succesful as priced ones. There is no need to struggle with trial versions (sharewares) of softwares or any other difficulties that bring with.

To start with anti-virus softwares, i prefer AVG Free. It is free for personal use. You can get it from http://free.avg.com/ Click "get it now"at free basic protection section. It has user-friendly interface and can be uptaded forever.

For firewall, i use Comodo firewall. It can be downloaded from http://www.comodo.com/products/free_products.html Comodo can be a bit complicated but with your answers, it will be more and more friendly. I use training mode on defence+ security level and safe mode on firewall security level.

I don't use much anti-spywares. If you are using Firefox with adblock, noscript extensions and how to surf on the web, you will not need also. However i rarely use Windows Defender. It is pretty beneficial.

In general,it is up to you. As i mentioned before,if you know how to surf, you probably get no problem.
