Miro

Think of a software that provides you to surf on the web, watch videos, follow rss feeds, download torrents etc. Miro can manage these features easily.

It is like a mixture of firefox (web browser) + vlc media player + utorrent (bittorrent client). You can also watch hd (high definition) videos. For example now youtube offers hd videos and with miro, you can download and watch. The videos that you downloaded with miro are expiring in 5 days so that they will be deleted if you don't use "keep it". Actually this feature is very beneficial if you are looking many videos. You don't want your harddisk overflow, do you?

At Miro's official webpage located on http://www.getmiro.com/ , they say "open internet tv, beyond anything else". Okey, this program is beyond anything else i accept that but i don't think miro is an internet tv. Although i haven't used that much, it is obvious that this software is not an internet tv.

In spite of my thought of being not an internet tv, miro is quite time spending software. In feeds section there are more than five thousand feedbacks waiting for you including music sports education comedy movies etc. I highly recommend miro.

Before finishing my topic, here are two sites that i suggest you to add miro if you use:
http://youtube.com/rss/global/top_viewed_today.rss As you can see from the link, that is top viewed videos on that day from youtube.
http://www.collegehumor.com/itunes/podcast/chtv/rss/ And this is rss feed of collegehumor. I like this site. They know how to make a video.

By the way, older versions of miro was not very compatible with windows vista. At least i couldn't make miro work. However, 2.o version has no problem on vista. In addition to this i must say miro can play many video formats.
